Mixing up batches of punch to serve to customers is one of the easiest ways to take some of the burden off bartenders while also driving profits. Summer tends to be a busy season, especially if you have a welcoming patio where guests can enjoy the outdoors while they dine. Instead of mixing individual drinks, save time and earn more revenue by relying on large batches that feature fresh, seasonal fruit. Here are a few profitable summer punches that are sure to be a hit:

Lemonade Rum Punch

All you need is lemonade, pineapple juice, coconut rum and dark rum. The end result is an addictive sweet drink that will make guests feel like they are laying on the beach of a tropical island. Adding the juice also keeps the beverage cost down so you can price the punch affordably and still make a nice profit.

Lemonade Sangria

Any sangria is a great way to utilize summer fruits, but this particular spin on the classic drink is a little more refreshing than other recipes, which tend to lean more towards the sweet side.

To make a batch that will serve eight drinks, you will need a half gallon of lemonade, one bottle of Chardonnay, 2/3 cup of rum and your choice of fruits to add for flavor. Oranges, raspberries and tart apples slices are all great options.

Cold Brew Sangria

One of the best parts about sangria is that you can really get creative. This version is more savory and perfect for people who usually gravitate towards porters. It includes cold brew coffee, tequila, Cointreau and some citrus fruits. You will be surprised at just how tasty this punch is, and your more adventurous guests will love to give it a try.

Margarita Punch

Few drinks say summer more than a margarita, and pre-mixing some large batches is the simplest, least expensive way to serve up this crowd favorite. For a summery and bubbly twist, mix Champagne, seltzer water tequila, triple sec lime juice and strawberries. The end result is pink, light, crisp and refreshing.

Summer Shandy Punch

Shandy beers are ideal when you're hitting the beach, but what if you could create that same taste in punch form? All it takes is ginger beer, a wheat beer, lemonade, seltzer and some fruit. Combine everything, let the punch chill for a couple of hours, and you have an instant hit on your hands. You might even be able to clear out some beer inventory that has been taking up space on your shelves.

Spiked Watermelon Rosemary Punch

There isn't anything much more refreshing than a juicy watermelon during the summer. This punch captures that flavors and combines it with fragrant rosemary for a delicious drink that is inexpensive and easy to mix up. All you need it watermelon infused vodka, watermelon, seltzer, lemons, rosemary and a little bit of sugar.

Blackberry Mojito

Its sweet, minty and totally refreshing. You will have to do a little muddling to get all the flavors just right, but this is still a drink that you can quickly mix up as a punch to keep labor and costs down. Combine light rum, seltzer water, lime, blackberries and mint leaves for an easy seasonal punch.

Learn how to find hidden money in your bar

It doesn't take a lot of expensive liquors or ingredients to mix up delicious summer punches. Keep it simple and focus on one core flavor combination and you will be able to create highly profitable batches of drinks that are crowd pleasers. A little punch prep-work can make your staff's day run smoothly while also driving profits.
